Character Information
*Character Name: Ironhide
*Character Canon: Movieverse
*Age: Extremely old
*Race: Cybertronian
*Timeline/Pull Point: During the third movie but before he dies

*History: A very very long wiki article
*Personality: Guns, cannons, explosions, and guns, Ironhide is an autobot with a very selected area of interest. Prove that you can blow things up as well as he can, and maybe he’ll consider adding you to his facebook page. If he had the patience to deal with something as trivial as social networking. You like his cannons? Well don’t mind if he decides to show them off to you, he happens to be very proud of them. As such, he’s not hesitant to use them in most situations... whether the situation calls for them or not is a separate issue all together. Ironhide doesn’t necessarily enjoy the war that wiped out a good many of his race, but he does enjoy a good battle, and tends to get a little gung-ho about charging into danger.

Ironhide has an appreciation for weapons of all types, even if he doesn’t always appreciate how they’re often used. Which is usually against him. Before the war, Ironhide’s passion for even the deadliest weapons was unparalleled, but the long war had dulled his interest in the somewhat. Though on Earth working for NEST he jumps at the chance to be the first to try out some shiny new gun.... for the good of mankind, obviously.

Diplomacy is something for bots like Optimus Prime, and Ironhide doesn’t see the point in trying it himself, since that’s kind of Optimus’s job. He prefers the most direct and bluntest approach possible; like driving fender first into two Decepticons. That’s not to say that he won’t follow orders and go along with more complex plans of course, he is a warrior and a soldier. Ironhide is extremely loyal to Optimus Prime and the Autobot cause, but he doesn’t always agree on Optimus’s methods. Sometimes he believes that Optimus is too soft, or that they could be doing more. Ironhide will push the Autobot code to the very limit if it means that he’ll get the job done, and this sometimes causes some conflict between him and Prime.

Since arriving on Earth, Ironhide hasn’t had too many issues with keeping hidden and adapting to the strange human culture. He does have a bit of a problem respecting lower-lifeforms, and doesn’t exactly cry should he accidentally take out a human while fighting a Decepticon. Vermin (like, say, tiny annoying chihuahuas) should be either squished, blown up, or otherwise terminated with extreme prejudice. While he does fight to protect the humans, he often sees them as lesser beings, Lennox being a great big exception here. Earth is pretty interesting though, Ironhide has grown a liking for Clint Eastwood movies, since that guy is amazingly badass for a human.

William Lennox is one of the few humans that Ironhide respects enough to consider him an equal. He is also the only human that Ironhide would willingly take orders from, since he happens to know that Lennox has a very good head on his shoulders and can blow things up with the best of them (except Ironhide does it better), their partnership has grown to the point where Ironhide doesn’t treat Lennox differently because of their size difference. When not on duty, Ironhide serves as the Lennox family vehicle, and it’s not a job he minds terribly much. Considering his looong history of fighting and being a general badass, he’s a bit surprised with himself that he feels content with this. Sarah Lennox is a good woman, and six-year-old Annabelle Lennox is rather cute.

If anyone says that they’ve heard Ironhide say that out loud, they’re lying and they deserve a “sparring” match with him.

*Powers/Abilities: Physically very tough and strong. Ironhide can drive headfirst into two Decepticons and do MUCH more damage to both of them than either of them do to him. In fact, he gets stabbed in the same fight, and manages to walk it off. After thousands of years of getting stabbed, one more time must seem like nothing, this mun supposes. Because of Ironhide’s high endurance, it’s really hard to kill him through usual means. In battle, he is brutal and merciless, since he sees no point in letting any filthy Decepticon live long enough to fight him again. Despite his bulky exterior, Ironhide happens to be very agile, doing plenty of flips and somersaults during battle.

Ironhide is the weapons specialist, and he’s first in line to test out whatever new weapon anyone comes up with. The Transformers wiki states that Ironhide has more guns on his body than a third world country, and this isn’t that hard to believe. His favourites happen to be the two cannons mounted on his arms, one being a pulse cannon, and the other being a scatter blaster. Wiki also states that he may or may not have blown up a planet with his guns... and that’s not so hard to believe either.

It should also be mentioned that Ironhide can transform into a 2007 GMC Topkick truck, which aside from looking very cool, probably has four wheel drive.

*Inventory: Just himself and his guns.

*Starting Polarity: Have at it

If AU, how does your character differ from canon?: N/A

Writing Samples
*First Person Sample:

[The message is short and to the point.]

You know who you are, and you know what you took.

If you don’t give them back, I’ll come after you.

There’s not going to be anything left when I’m done.

[And Optimus doesn’t believe Ironhide has a way with words. He thinks he’s made his point very clearly in the most understandable way possible. No one takes something precious from Ironhide and gets away with it, and he’s going to let it be known throughout this Cybertron that no one messes with him and leaves unscathed.

He’s issued his challenge.

Bring it.
]

*Third Person Sample: Ironhide took his duties as the protector of the Lennox family very seriously. So seriously in fact that he sometimes became unnecessarily fussy over grievances that would not be considered such a big deal on earth. Ironhide’s usual method of dealing with the unknown was to point a gun at it and see what happens. Naturally he knew that this couldn’t solve all of his problems, but it did wonders for a vast majority of them.

This was one of those times when the size of his weapons wouldn’t do him any favours.

Imagine his alarm when he saw little Annabelle covered with unsightly looking dots all over her skin. At first he was completely convinced that the little human child had caught some terrible disease and it took the combined efforts of William, Sarah, and Ratchet to convince him that she wasn’t dying. Apparently this ‘Chicken Pox’ was not only non-lethal it was also expected in childhood. What kind of species did that? He didn’t like it when Annabelle got sick, whether it be a simple cold or chicken pox. Aside from driving Sarah or his partner to the store to get medicine he was virtually incapable of helping the child.

It made him feel helpless.

Though he’d ever say as much out loud.
